York History on WWI

In this 100th year anniversary of the start of the Great War, commemoration of that long, bloody, and socially transformative conflict is in full swing in Canada and the other nations that fought. The history department at York University has produced an excellent series of short (5 minute), clear, and informative videos about the conflict, featuring archival photographs and explanations by more than a dozen historians. They range in subject from the origins of the war, to technology and war, to the war from the perspective of French Canadians. An excellent teaching resource, and not to be missed.
